When a Records Response Feels Incomplete

How to identify a response that is missing attachments, key search terms, or obvious follow-up records.

Partial productions are common, but they should be explainable

A short response does not necessarily mean the agency ignored the request, but a good records process should still let residents understand what was searched and what was withheld.

The follow-up should ask for the search description, a list of record custodians, and any reason the production may be incomplete.
